Default Spring Storm

Here is a shot that I saved in post. I would love feedback on the image changes. The original was shot in RAW and then opened in Photoshop as a Smart Object. I adjusted the image for a better exposure of the sky and then copied the layer to a new Smart Object where I was able to adjust the exposure for the foreground path and grass. I then blended the two layers together using a layer mask.

Good overall, but I think the road is a bit too bright considering the general atmosphere and the fact that there is no sun shining nearby for such strong reflection. I would like to see this turned into an HDR.

Default Hdr

I have heard alot about HDR, but haven't had a chance to play with it yet. Any good resources to learn how?

I agree that it is maybe a bit to aggressive in brightening the foreground.

The clouds on the "after" version, actually looks neat, also the patch of green under it. Gaves out the impression that the sun is beaming on that part of the photo alone.

You can search the forums about HDR. Here's the basics http://digital-photography-school.com/blog/an-introduction-to-high-dynamic-range-imaging-hdr/

Great shot! I am not sure you need HDR on this one. There seems to be a lot of room for improvement in increasing shadow detail and improving color without such. Am including an example below.
