Default my friend, the drummer

I first looked at this shot and thought it was kind of "meh". But after messing around with it in PS, I got something I really like.

Before:

1) crop to get as much of the front of stage lights out of the pictures as possible
2) adjusted the brightness/contrast
3) played with the curves to bring out more blue and get rid of some of the yellow
4) straightened the picture
5) added a vignette to get rid of the rest of the stage lights that I couldn't get rid of in the crop.

The result turned out to be one of my favorite images from the concert.

Very nice edit. You could use it on the CD cover.

That was one of those "once in a lifetime-it pays to know the band" type of thing. I was at the front of the stage and he saw me signal to him the twirl the drumstick, and I happen to get the shot right on the first time.

Thanks for the compliments-I think this is my best post processing job ever, so I really appreciate the nice comments!

Thanks! I am not going to be able to get my head through the door now! *haha* Concert photography is my "thing" and it's what I would love to do as a photographer. This particular band is great to shoot because the show NEVER slows down. It's exhausting, but the best rush in the world.
