Default Hummingbird Moth

This is a hummingbird moth feeding on phlox. They are small and quick.

After a slight increase in contrast, then crop the moth, darkened the eye and the antennas.

Is the contrast right?
Could the crop have been done better?
Do those antennas look fake?

Cropping closer definitely makes more of the detail you captured in the moth. I am not sure that a square format is the best choice for this one, especially with the subject so centred. Try cropping to a portrait format instead (I played around with a couple of options by resizing my browser window).

I think it would also be worth adjusting the white balance of the picture - I think this would make the final result more vivid.

I like the square crop. IF you wanted to change it, maybe try more of the flower to the right and put the moth on the top left thirds intersection.

Doepth of field might be a tad shallow. His back end is a bit soft.
