Default Combining images

I took the first image and selected an area and then mirrored it and placed it where I wanted it. I then created a mask layer and erased the areas that had a seem. flattened image and cloned out any remaining seams. Then I copied and pasted as a new layer a new sky. created mask layer and painted in black the areas i didnt want to show through. Its easiest to lower the opacity of the new layer until almost done painting so you can see what your're doing and then when done raise the opacity back up so you can make sure the edges are all good. Followed the same steps with the penguins and then added the rose int he sky with a very low opcaity. Lastly I created a duplicate layer - gaussian blur at 10 and the erased the areas to remain crips.

I like the picture. It took a bit for me to see the rose though...I think it may be a little too light, maybe the rainbow too.
I have to ask, was it intentional to have the subconcious sexual tone? Or do you just have a dirty mind!
Maybe it's just me!

Ok, I guess it's just me.
It's true, that much "art" has subliminal sexual content. Either intentionally (advertising) or accidentally.

What I noticed was that the view continues between two "mounds" past a rainbow to a "flower". With the two "mounds" seeming to be the primary "subject" of the image and the "flower" a secondary distant focal point.

please do not be offended this is simply a question. Why the flower? If you want it to grab attention then i agree with whoever above said you can barely see it. If you dont want it to be a focal point then i actually think it detracts from the photo because it just becomes a strange cluster of darker shapes. I think the picture is great without it...and as the others said thanks for sharing the steps it really helps.

Windrider - you are now officially my favorite!

sk66 - I thought the same thing re the subliminal sexual content - BUT, I totally blame my high school English teacher - he was really "into" phallic symbols. I guess he did his job, b/c I remember everything he tought me. But then I guess Windriders picture would be a yonic symbol...

Odd as this may sound, when I first looked at it my first thought was that my grandmother would make something of the two mountains. A delightfully prime proper 73 year old, my grandmother "sees" sexual conitations in everything. I wonder why that is? Perhaps it is because she grew up in a period when sex was not discussed openly.

Anyway, neat effect windrider. Awesome job around the penguins.
