Default Attempting Post Production

Normally with my pictures I'll crop and adjust the color a tad. This time around I tried to make the pictures a little nicer for my family. I adjusted the colors, exposure, added a soft focus, and a vignette.

I was just wondering if these were pleasing to anyone else's eyes. If you have any tips or pointers please feel free...I'm learning and would love the help.

I like the subtle vingette you did. Something you might try also is to change your aperature so your background is slightly blurred , giving it more depth of field.
The first one is a gem! Watch where hands are placed as int he second photo the woman sitting down looks like she might be getting strangled.
aslo when taking portraits and I know this isnt always possible but try to have your subjects where clothing that is similar in color and texture.

Since you are doing the PP work, you could go ahead and blur the background now. With the texture that it is, it would probaly look good.

These are beautiful shots. What pleases my eye is how much these women obviously love one another - they can't keep their hands off each other! Wonderful family(?) memories! I don't care how they're composed - they're true gems!

Default PP on images

Do you have photoshop available if you are familiar with the layering features this wil open up a whole new world for you in ways to present the finnish of a image. These are simple tools in PS that sometimes are unused and how the finnished image is presented can change the perspective of how its seen. I took your original and made a example for you to see took all of 3 mins hope you didnt mind.

I have photoshop (an older verison I can't remember which one it is though - I'm not at my computer). I have no idea how to do the layers but I would love to learn.

No worries about taking the photos and working with them. You are welcome to do that...I was hoping for that kind of help.

Those women do completely adore each other. That is one of the reasons why I love the look between the younger two. I do agree though that I should have told my mom to not strangle her sister

It was a spur of the moment request so I went with it.

I completely am grateful though for the comments because I hope to be able to more stuff like this in the future.

Smile Post Edit

The Version of PS you have will have layers in it this is a basic part of PhotoShop. Try the help section asking about layers see if this helps you walk through the process. When you get into doing layering drop me a line here i will show you a few other things to do when in layers.
