First you start out with nice pretty clouds looking out the plane window. Next you aplly the polar coordinate effect using polar to rectangle.Use the smudge tool to mooth out any lines. Then you use the selection tool and pick out an area, any ol area will do. mirror that and then with using the pick tool enlarge that to the entire screen. Lower the opacity and create a mask layer to remove any lines. Do that again with another area. again create another mask layer to remove any lines. Merga all layers. Boost up the stauration and here ya have a new abstarct design.

Does anyone else see the puppy in both pictures?!?! It looks like a white eskimo-type puppy. At the very tip of the plane wing, and towards the bottom third of the abstract...

...or am I seeing things?!?!

Polar coodinates is a cool process. I have a tut somewhere, where you take part of the result and "drag out" to get something like this:


Yours would look something like this:


Done in PS CS2:
this is done by taking the single column marquee tool and creating a line down the center of the image. I made this one about an eighth of an inch wide (although, I think the result is better if you just have the tool create a straight line) and then pressed CTRL+T for free transform. Then drag the right (or left) handle out and you'll see what happens.

I hope you don't mind my hijacking this thread (and your image), I just thought that it was a cool little addendum to compliment your creativity.

I would think that images with parallel lines in them work well, as the examples show. But experiment, and see. Maybe there are some really cool images just waiting for transformation.
