The original capture was with my Nikon D80 f/6.3 @ 1/250s ISO 100 50mm shot at a local park here in MI. First, i opened the image in Photoshop CS3 to tweak some tones in it's RAW state, converted the image to a Jpeg by saving the image at it's highest quality, 12 MAX Progressive= Scan 3. First thing i did after the conversion was clone all artifacts out of the image i felt were a distraction, including the bird poop on the front leaf. Softened the leafs in the background, i felt were distracting. Then i made some adjustment layers including hue/saturation, levels, and curves, using each to balance the individual color tones so i don't blow them out. I masked the red on the leafs to pull out more brilliance, inverted the selection, and used the adjustment layers i mentioned before to make changes to the leafs, and background. all the choices i made were designed to draw the eye to the front leaf, which i chose to make my main focal point.

I have made a conscious choice to dedicate the rest of my life in creating relevant, emotional, and thought provoking images, and i have to say, that this enviroment has become a brilliant light on my path. All of the critique, tutorials setup for improvement throughout the whole photographic spectrum, experience combined, has contributed to whatever i showcase. So yes, i must thank everyone here for keeping me focused on climbing the right ladder, up to where i believe i belong. Also whatever i deem relevant enough to share, i most certainly will, because we are all trying to make the most out of photography, and the way we share thought processes here, the possibilities are really endless!!!
