Default Glamorizing a quick snapshot.

Ok so here is a fairly quick attempt at glamorizing a snapshot that I took at a party.

Original no processing other than converting from RAW to JPEG.
Pamela Unedited

As you can see not very impressive picture. Background has some distractions, used a direct flash since there was nothing to bounce the flash off of, didnt have time to setup off camera lighting since it was in the middle of a party.

So a quick spin with Photoshop CS3 and 15 minutes later we have.....

Pamela

Hope you guys like it. Any critique/comments/questions are welcome. If there is enough interest I will get around to writing up a step by step tutorial on the process I did to edit it.

What an awesome transformation! I'm sure one post isn't enough interest, but I would love a step by step on what you did here!

Nice edit. My only suggestion would be that I notice a distinct softening of the lower part of the face as compared to the top half, esp. around the eyes. I think that the make-up effects you've added and where the flash falls on her hair actually contribute to this. Maybe slightly burning back some of the lighter areas of hair, and the lips slightly, would give the boldly colored effect you have created to the whole face more evenly.

Thanks for the comments I will give those edits a try kathryn. And I will work on a step by step tutorial when I have some more time. Really busy at the restaurant tonight so dont have time to do it today but stay tuned...... We really should get a subsection for post processing tutorials going on here.... I am always looking for more tutorials and would be glad to share what I know with all the great people here at DPS.

Default 15 Minutes!!!

Wow - I hope to learn how to do this that quick. I am such a newb when it comes to post processing (using GIMP) that would take me hours.

You have mad skills

Hey, Rex - great tutorial in the pp section and really cool transformation! I didn't notice this until I went through the thread in pp, but if I may add one more suggested tweak, it would be to soften (or remove) the large crease in her neck that mimics her jaw/chin line. Everything else is so smooth, then once I saw that I couldn't not see it. Just a suggestion. It's still a beautiful print and a striking girl!
