Default One more shot from the West!

Photobucket

This is a shot I took of this lone little gas station out in the middle of the desert in Nevada. The original was dull so I brought out the colors and levels and also cloned out the trees at the bottom. I always keep an eye out for little things like that. I think small bits of objects on the edge can junk up an image! So keep your eyes peeled before you even take the shot!

What steps did you take to bring out the colors?

I mostly adjusted the levels which helps bring out the color a bit. I also use the saturation feature to bring out the colors as well. I adjusted the part with the letters separately to bring out the white in them a bit more with out adjusting rest of the image. Any adjustments I do...I always click off and on the preview box in photoshop so I can compare them.....so you can get a good sense of what looks good! There is also a slight vignette on the after shot as well which I think helps contrast the color as well!!

I like what you did. The word gas is much more visible in the second one. Must have been kind of hard to make an interesting photo with so much blue in it!

I prefer the first, but that's just because I prefer more natural colors.
