Default Harley before and afters

For my first post I thought I'd post a before and after. I have a great love for motorcycles and love to photograph them. I recently purchased my first DSLR and have been experimenting any chance I get. A recent trip the the Harley deal had me thinking about taking some new shots of my bike. The dealer had some great close-ups that were set to black and white and made into large framed posters.

I took these with my D5100 and 35mm F1.8 lens. I then used PS to crop it a little and make them into a monochromatic look. Enjoy.

Nicely done. I like that the B&W brings out the textures and eliminates the distracting red reflections in the colour version.

Thanks! After seeing what the dealer wanted for one poster; I thought I could do it much cheaper.

Actually, I think they are both nice. But, I agree, for a commercial application the B/W is better.

Lovely photo! I like how the detail on the air filter cover pops.

You going to get it blown up to poster size?

Default Great image

This is fantastic! Love the composition and tack sharp focus! I like the Harley circle as is but might have used less of the contrast affect on the rest of the image so as to keep some of the shadow detail that was lost in the after. Perhaps a curves adjustment where you increased the bright pixels and left the black alone. Thanks for sharing! Makes me want one!

Great Job in the PP. I definately like the edit and really think the monochrome suits this shot well.

The after is really good. Logo is standing out perfectly, great for commercial application.
