I love this! What a handsome boy! Is this a Lightroom preset or did you do the coloring on your own? Can you explain what you did

I did most of the edits in Lightroom.

- Up the contrast.
- Make the blacks deeper, etc...

The main thing I find works the best for getting colours like this is using 'Split Toning'. You just kind of play with it a bit.

Afterwards I export and take into photoshop, crop in photoshop, sharper in photoshop, take out any annoying things (I got lazy with this one), and then play with an adjustment colour balance level to perfect the look you want, square crop/vignette and vuela!

I wish I knew how to use LR presets... haven't dabbled in those yet!

Cool, thanks! I love presets- I am actually a little intimidated by photoshop. I have PS4 but stick with Lightroom because I have no idea where to start. I just ordered PS Elements to see if that's less intimidating lol. I will have to try the split toning- that is something i have not really played with. Thanks!

I HATED photoshop when I first got it years ago. I think it sat on my computer for 6 months before I opened it. Try bringing in some stuff or doing tutorials online. I promise once you get the hang of it that you'll love it. It makes certain things easier for sure.

Overall though I actually prefer the colours of the before images better.
I disagree with your oponion about first image.
But i agree with you about damged colours in after image.

I think the altered images look really nice. What filter did you use?

The afters are very nice. Even if the blacks are too deep or the laws are cut off, it is your opinion that matters...Unless you are working for a client... Great images though!
