Default Orte, Italy - what would be your way of finishing this one off?

I took the before picture from the car on the autoroute, on our way home from Rome last weekend...not ideal circumstances for taking a photo, as I'm sure you will agree. I didn't expect much, to be honest, but hey, it's digital, and you can always delete right! Anyway, thought I would put it through photoshop; and this is what I ended up with!
First, I removed the modern apartment building on the left with the clone and healing tools...after that, I know I used curves, and a watercolour filter, and a bit of contrast..really I just kept trying stuff, until I ended up with something I liked.

Any other suggestions gratefully received, and if anyone wants to have a go at an alternative 'after' picture, please be my guest!
    Thanks for looking

Oi! You are doing fine. No one is Master on day one or even day one hundred. The after image looks fine and painterly. Nice work on the power lines.
