Very well done. Nice and subtle.....Sometimes softening and smoothing skin gets taken too far....its always better to leave just a hint of texture. Nice edit!

sure! i'll try to explain, it's pretty simple. i use photoshop cs5 first of all. first i used the healing tool and clone stamp tool to remove anything that stood out. then i duplicated the layer and went to filter>other>high pass set to a radius of 30 pixels. i then went to filter>blur>gaussian blur set to a radius of 3 pixels. then i set the layer to linear light and changed the opacity to 30%. i then masked out everything that wasn't skin i wanted to smooth out. hope this isn't too confusing! let me know if it works alright.

The skin smoothing is very well done, but I actually think the before picture is out of focus ever so slightly. It doesnt seem sharp.

Looks ok but soft and maybe a bit on the red side, even the shadows are reddish and the white of the eyes.

I would definitely remove zits, but it looks like you removed freckles. Freckles are a permanent part of a person's face and look and, to me, it's too much of a change and an unnecessary one.
