Default Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds...

I was playing around with curves yesterday and discovered a fun way to make a happy memory of an acid trip!

Before:

After:

Howto (GIMPwise):
1. Take a slightly creepy picture
2. Create a new layer, and put a radial gradient in it, with white in the middle and black on the edges, then put it in "Value" mode to give it a weirdish color look
3. Merge the visible layers
4. Copy the merged layer, and put the top copy in overlay mode. Shift the copy slightly (or a lot, depending on how high you want to look).
5. Play with the curves for the top layer--I find that turning the curve into the letter "N" tends to yield crazy results! Try using your initials to see what happens!

(Disclaimer: I've never been high, so this might not look like an acid trip at all.)

This might not be serious and wonderful art, but it's quite a lot of fun. Feel free to post your results, as well as any differences in the PP yielded them!

it's good to experiment. and good idea to write down all the steps in a detailed edit so you remember how you acheived it. ha

So you mean I should take a not very good Mum and Baby pic like this...

And apply your process to get this?

OK so why not go the whole hog and apply a lens distort to get something seriosly weird?
