Default The Dragan Effect

I used the Dragan type processing (many methods - Google it) so the viewer of this man's photograph can see his life etched on his face from past and recent events. The story of which is related in this week's assignment.

I like it!
It looks somewhat less 'cartoony' than a lot of these I've seen.

I had a quick go at the technique a while ago but the result were a good way short of spectacular. - I really must have a look around and find a decent recipe for it sometime.

Very nice photo. I saw it in the holiday challenge. Very gritty and real.

Thank you Hutch and Judi, I'm still learning this process as there are many tutorial variants on the net and I think it's a case of using a technique or combination of techniques I find suitable - takes a little playing around that's for sure. I posed my poor unsuspecting father-in-law by a large window and used his LCD display panel for a backdrop. When I saw this particular pose I knew I had what I wanted.

Looks good, but that colour tint makes him look like a zombie. Try a desturation and that will enhance the grittiness I think.

Thanks for your comment Tiberius and I'll take it under consideration. Although, on my calibrated monitor I don't think I can really agree with you, but it is subjective of course. And it has been through a desaturation layer adjustment.

I definitely think you captured his life experience but I also have to agree with T. It definitely has that undead look. He looks sort of scary.
