This is radical but might be of interest to you. The guy says he's not a photographer. |

That guy's 3 fries short of his "Happy-Meal", but he takes good pics. If he didn't think the world wanted his opinion, he could become successful at photography.
Anyway, I agree that over processing an image removes some of its' right to be called a photo. Sometimes the end result is more dramatic, colorful, or just "Pops" in a way the original didn't. It's still a photo. What's important is the way the image makes the viewer feel. The processing done to the cat clock doesn't change the fact that it's a photo of a cat clock. It just heightens the impact on the viewer. IMO in a positive way.

I think his whole point is not being pretentious and focusing on the art of staging and setting up cool shots....He's one of my flickr contacts and i think hes got some of the finest work on flickr even though imost of of it is nudity its still Great photography. He's seems to me to be one of those unconventional types who step outside the box then crush it! I don't think he's saying he is not a person who takes photographs but just not the typical photographer. He an artist who uses a camera to create his works.....so in our world he is a very good portrait photographer but to him the camera is nothing more than his tool as a paint brush would be to a painter. A bit out there but great none the less.

Yes, this guy's work is very intriguing. I have to head out to the day job, but if he does that kind of work with photos, I can't wait to see what he does with paintings. BTW, I decided to post KittyKat in the angles contest anyway. In the "not a photographer" spirit (a good photographer does not show you his bad pictures), here's the original for DivaPhoto: ![]() I guess this website does not mind the altering of "true" pictures? Posting them for contests are ok? Is this the message? Rock |

Maybe the photo is the original. And maybe even still after it has been "adjusted" for tones, etc . . . but, when it is over done and no longer the intended image, it becomes just that . . . an image. Maybe?
