Default Just my opinion

I'm still a newbie - so just my opinion ... but I like the before better. The only reason I have for this is because the sepia tone almost make it look like the tree in the background is actually part of his hair. If there were more contrast between the tree and his hair I might change my mind

I would consider a tighter crop. The background is somewhat distracting.

I love the idea od Sepia, its just that in my humble newbie opinion Sepia works when the subject is wearing clothes that are fitting for the period.

So, I like the first one - Adam's face seems as though you and he share a secret - or is this a self portrait? Good Pic - thanks for sharing!

pinkster, your photos are too big. They shouldn't be larger than 600 px on the longest side.

i like sepia, but i think it makes adam 'flat'. He doesn't seem to pop out anymore.
You could try upping the blacks/shadows so that he's pop.

I like the second one but I agree with the PPs that said it looks a bit flat. Try boosting the contrast a bit and see what you can come up with!

no offense but i love the orig. version better... I'm still a newbie too.. but maybe it is just that what you did in the second shot doesn't fit the scenery
