I had taken some long exposures of the coast at Ynys Barry in Pembrokeshire, Wales on a rather dull day. I was using my Sony A100 with an 18-200mm lens and an ND fader that adjusts from a few stops to completely black.

The results were interesting but I thought they could do with brightening up so I went a bit overboard with Photoshop...

Colour was added on different layers as follows:

Warming filter (85)
Purple filter brushed in at the top
Red filter brushed in below and overlapping the purple
Orange filter brushed in from horizon and fading upwards.

Had this printed on canvas about 1m across - looks good on the wall
