MG_3425.jpg ---- had it lightened

MG_3425-2.jpg --- had it lightened and saturation and clarity pushed up a bit on her lips

.....which is better?

I really don't see any difference in the last two.

Honestly, I like the first one, the original one better. I think if you just got rid of the small blemishes on her face in the first one, it would be great.
The second one, the after, it looks like her face is a lot darker than the rest of her body.

Thanks for Posting your before and after shots.

It's always good to see and learn what other people are doing.

My view,
And I hate to have to say this, but I think your have gone the wrong way,
and your before Photo is actually better.

In fact ... If it were me I would have concentrated on other enhancements.
Eg: ... levelling the 2 eyes up, straightening the mouth, and I'm not fully sure maybe a little nose work, and then possibly lightened the darker parts of the skin, removing colour casts, removed blemishers, that kind of thing.

But then it's not my Photo, are you happy with your Post Processing.
Because that's what matters.

Cheers,
Lextar

I was playing around with a new technique is using the burning tool to even out the skin tone, but yes I went the wrong way, but hey I learn by experimenting and getting others opinions on them too. It was a very good that I got the response and help from dPS forum members on it as I am now very happy with the final version of the photo (5 versions), and not using the burning tool at all in this case. Thanks Lextar for your input everyone's input into my topics and work is very helpful even if I don't agree with them 100% of the time.

Thanks for your reply Chris.

I saw this Post a couple of days back and then lost it.
And just found it again late last night, and rushed off a hurried reply
So I probably answered it differently then I would have normally.

Then I didn’t see page 2 until I hit submit.
Well you have certainly gotten a good response which is a also a good thing.

Now lets look at it another way,
We can both see that your dodging has worked fine, and that’s not the problem, it’s just that in my opinion
(and maybe that of others) you have picked on the wrong Photo.
But that’s not a problem either, there will always be plenty of new Photos coming.
And now you have a useful tool in your tricks bag.

Now let me read thru page 2

Cheers again,
Lextar
