So how did you get to the after? Did you shop in a new sky, or PP the photo to bring out what was there?

No I had to a shop in a new sky. The day I was there was nothing but overcast and blowing my shots out. I don't really like having to shop new skies in but when your thousands of miles from home you don't get a chance the next day to come back and do it again. Is there any advice that people can give me about shopping skies? I don't have much practice at it.

Ok understand the patience and planning but where does HDR or bracketing and graduated ND filter come into play if you are going to Photoshop a new sky in?

Patience and planning means waiting for the right time to shoot, and hdr/exposure bracketing to capture the sky that IS there without blowing it out. I don't Photoshop skies in, so waiting for the right one/being able to capture the detail is the only way for me. I understand you only had limited time though.

That being said, your final image looks really good.

Hey thanks but when you do bracketing do you do 3 or 5 exposures and generally how many stops?
