Arrow My wife's a witch!

Lyn B&A

Photomanipulation for my wife. She likes Halloween almost as much as I do. These are so much fun! I hope some of you get inspired and upload your own creature creations.

This was done using Photoshop-CS4. I used the "Warp" transformation tool, the "Liquify" filter, the "Dodge & Burn" tools, the "Render Clouds" filter, my own custom brushes (forehead scar), and 2 different color fill layers. I changed the blending mode to "Overlay", to apply the colors with minimal erasing. The entire job took under 2 hours. I may not be getting better, but I am getting faster.

Cool! How do you know she's a witch? She looks like one - Monty Python the Holy Grail. What a transformaton!! I like it!

I have taken a pic of my daughter in a devil costume but my pp skills are nothing compared to yours

We really ought to start a thread on SYS.

Thanks for commenting on this. These photomanipulations are fun and addictive. They can be done in almost any editing program that uses layers. I used to do these in GIMP, before upgrading to Photoshop.I taught myself through trial and error, but there are alot of tutorials available online for free. I would love it if they had a photomanipulation section on SYS. I could even write up a tutorial for use with GIMP, and Photoshop. These kinds of edits can be used for all holidays and occasions, as well as for fine art images. If they ever add a section for these, I hope they let me know.

Well, if you want to be kind enough to share techniques with people, I'd highly recommend starting a post here: Post Processing and Printing Even doing a Halloween photo manipulation post... or resurrecting one I did back in 2008: Spooky Post-Processing Tutorials for Halloween

If you just want to share, you can post here: Processed and HDR - SYS

But the technique area doesn't get nearly enough love.

Unfortunately, a couple of those links are dead...one even leads to a site with a virus or something...Norton's went gonzo when I clicked on the vampire/witch link.

I've still got a box of skulls left to play with. I'm working on welding a 5 foot diameter chandelier, using 5 of the skulls with electric candels through the tops. I'll post some shots when it's done.

How fun!! I did one not too long ago with the one you sent of it on a pedestal. Kinda cool that it won 1st place in the photography section of the show. I no longer have an upstairs section of the house for my supplies/props so everything is in the basement of a REALLY old place. Yup, first time i went down and saw the skull sitting there I decided it had to be covere dup. lol
