Default House on the Lake

Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XT
Focal Length: 200.0mm
Exposure Time: 0.0050 s (1/200)
Aperture: f/6.3
ISO Equiv.: 400
Photoshop CS2 and Eye Candy Textures: "Heavy Rain".

This is the original:

This is the PP:

Sorry about the size differences. OK . . . how I did it:
Duplicate background layer, create a layer below it and filled it with white. Add an Eye Candy Texture: "Heavy Rain" to the white layer and change the image layer to difference.

Is the texture on the white layer or the original image? It sounds like, from the top, you have:

1. Image with texture applied and set to difference mode

2. Plain white layer

Is that correct?

You know what? I did kinda get that bass-ackwards. The white layer gets the texture. That should be the only error in my description. I'll edit my post. Thanks for pointing it out Wulf!

Default Step by step

I'm going to try this with direct links for the images. You can't put too many images in a thread. So, here it is.

OPEN THE IMAGE:
http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/7...oundholbe0.jpg

DUPLICATE LAYER:
http://img74.imageshack.us/img74/433...kgroundru1.jpg

ADD A LAYER UNDER THE IMAGE DUPLICATE & FILL WITH WHITE:
http://img241.imageshack.us/img241/6...llwhiteoa8.jpg

ADD TEXTURE TO THIS (BLANK) LAYER:
(I've turned off the top image layer to show the texture here while working. You may want to increase or decrease amount. Unfortunately, this image doesn't do it justice)
http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/7...textureli8.jpg

Change top image layer blending mode to "Difference"
Finished:

(Obviously the background layer doesn't play a part in this creation at all and could have easily been changed to a layer to begin with instead of my process. It's just what I did as I was experimenting, so it became part of my explanation, also.

Hopefully, that was a little more in depth. Kirk
