Default Forbidden Door, before-n-after

Before:

forbidden-door-a

After
forbidden-door

I had post the after of these in the "Share your shots" forum and now have the before loaded someplace so could show here. I did a little contrast first to the color one (as is shown) then to get the b&w, reduce temp, reduce color, add color, reduce color, a bit, to get the greenish metal looking b&w.

I like them both. Both shots give a little bit different to the story.

That's awesome. Desaturating can brings lots of things! I tend to put my pictures in black and white when the color are too messy and distract from the subject. But, I haven't done any picture where it brings so much textures like this!

Thanks all for the great comments, I have been away from the PC all morn and could not respond. The door that last commenter linked is the same one or a very similar one. Thanks for that, as other folks asked about it.

Hey thanks and see the other comments, someone was nice enough to hunt one down that shows the thing better. There are more on flickr but I only did some crazy angle type shots of them when I was there.

Thanks again

Thank you and you sure can. This is a door on the inner side of the entrance hall into the Forbidden City in Beijing, China.
