Default Amythest - Beautiful Red Head - Before/After

White balance corrected, a bit of patch work, removed blue/cyan from my whites, darkened the background, and *really* popped her hair color (I did this with a combo of a curves layer set to soft light as well as some selective dodging of highlights and burning of shadows). Did a global saturation boost of about +7 if I remember correctly. I also did a touch of liquify to minimize the 'slouchy' look. Kids are the worst about this (of course, I should have caught it before taking the shot, but alas, I didn't). Anyways, I pushed the shoulder camera left DOWN a bit and tucked in the poochy shirt.

You can see a bigger version of this HERE.

LOVE your B&A's! Just goes to show how much needs to be done right IN-camera, then just a few tweaks to make it perfect.

I'm glad you bumped this Susan, or I would have never seen it. I completely agree. Something that I fight with myself about all the time.

That is so true Susan! I don't like 'fixing' mistakes in PS, just enhancing what's already there. Lord knows I've done my share of fixing too though. haha I totally should have caught the posture issue before hand, but sometimes these things get overlooked.

Amazing!! I have a red headed girl and I just HAVE to give this a go! That is once I can bribe her to get her photo taken.

I visited your website and blog and your photos are just stunning! I wish I could take photos like you.

I also noticed that you are a mother of 8 plus a part-time pro photographer. How do you find the time

The hair's a bit overdone to me, but otherwise looks good.
