Default fancy focus and frame - or better not?

for this photo i played with the picnik feature "fancy focus" and also added a frame. but suddenly I am not sure anymore if perhaps the straightforward original is actually better. of course it's all a matter of personal taste, but i would love to hear some feelings and thoughts.

The straight forward version.
The fame doesn't do anything for me and the "focus" is overdone, especially with the people being blurred as well as the background.

How does it look with just the background being slightly blurred?

I really like the original. I think it has a more raw feel...the blurring and vignetting soften it.

I think it depends on what your going for. Assuming the pregnant woman and the man are not part of your group you have in effect taken the focus from them onto the children. I like the after.
