Default Maltese door

I fairly heavily edited this photo so would love some feedback on whether it works or not!

Camera: Nikon D40X
Exposure: 0.003 sec (1/400)
Aperture: f/10
Focal Length: 29 mm
ISO Speed: 800
Exposure Bias: 0/6 EV
ISO Speed: 800

Original photo:

And the edited version:

I basically was trying to create HDR with a single exposure shot, so just turned the exposure down on the photo after I uploaded it onto my PC, saved a copy, and did the oppsite turning the exposure up (all on Picasa) then used Photomatix to combine the three images. Also cranked up the saturation afterwards to enhance the blue of the door.

I really like the edited version. What did you do exactly?

Sorry I realised after I posted I hadn't described what I did so I've edited the original post... take a look under the edited photo.

Good job! I can see some Lomo style in this photo, I think this images is asking for some vignette

Looks great. I love how the blue is so much more vibrant than it was before.

I really like both. I have a thing for old doors, and like photographing them. Cool effect!
