Default Old truck

I liked this shot did not care for all the extra junk in the picture. The power pole reminded me of the failed portraits of something sticking out of a persons head.

I used photoshop cs3 for removal of all the extraneous components. The followed up with a luminosity masking layer to lighten the shadows on the hood of the truck.

BEFORE

AFTER

AFTER BLACK AND WHITE

Being a fan of old Chevy trucks I think it is perfect! But of course that is just me!

Your work removing the clutter looks good to me. I usually like B/W but I think I like the second one best. The B/W loses some of the character of the truck (rust and faded paint).

Nice work. The shot looks much better without all the distraction in the background. A little more contrast might bring out some more details.

I second that, IMO #2 is better ...

I too like the colored one.. as mentioned above, little contrast would bring life into the picture... thanks for sharing!

I have to agree with everyone on the black and white. It lacks something and I too think it is contrast. I backed off the contrast because the detail of the headlight area was lost when I turned it up. In the future maybe a localized contrast brush in LR over the truck to make the textures pop would be better.

Then again there are some pictures that just make poor black and whites and this might be one of them.

Here it is with some contrast added

Nice job removing the background clutter. And all I can say is that is one mean looking truck
