I'm posting this mainly as my way of saying that you can make art out of just about any shot you have. That said, here is the before:

God, the goofy humanity!!!!!!
And here is the after: (click for LARGE)

Steps to achieve...

Well, this was a mistake but I've sort of been able to re-create it so here is the best I can offer:
1.)Light your face with a computer monitor and take a picture of the background with you happening to be in the way, looking rather goofy.
2.)Brightness down and contrast up so so you can color in the background.
3.)Desaturate
4.)Sharpen to desired ammount
5.)Get vague in directions as you can't remember
6.)There it is! Hooray!

Honestly, I wish I could remember the steps so I could do this again but the truth is I was working on actions for another process all together (I think it was interface elements) and accidentally applied it to this image of myself and was amazed by the results. Ever since then, I haven't been able to do anything close to it save for one shot of a woman which I did right after that shot.

Interesting result. It reminds me of the movie "Lawnmower Man". Umm...not that I ever saw the movie or anything, I just heard about it you see....

Woha! That's creepy! I'm curious when you'd want to use this effect. For graphic art endeavors?

Cool effect... I wish it wasn't quite as dark as it turned out. But when I looked at the larger one it does really look like beaten metal!!
