Default Desert Fence

Before:

After:

Shot with a Tokina 12-24 lens. First image is the result of my "set and forget it" mentality while using aperture priority. I think the grass was bright enough that the camera behaved as if I were taking pictures in the snow, underexposed.

Since then, I've got in the habit of checking the histogram on the LCD and I generally overexpose everything at least a stop.

I can't pick a favorite between these two. I love the darkness in the first shot. It feels like a thunderstorm is brewing. Yet, I love the colors in the second one. I love the perspective of the fence on both pictures!

I like both actually. You could have gone either way with the post-producing. You could have made the colors brighter, and keep the sky like a storm. Or the way you ended up with a final product.

I love storm pictures from the desert, so the first have a homey feel to me.
thanks for sharing.

I like the post-processed better. The colours came out quite nicely, and I think the angle of the fence leading to the hill is perfect.
