Default Family Portrait

When we were on the cruise with our family, my sister wanted a group photo done by the ships photographers on one of the dress up nights. She figured odds were good we might not get together as a family again dressed up etc as the kids are growing and my parents are getting older.

I know I do not own the photo to edit, but she emailed me a scanned copy and asked me to see if I could fix the background which did not fit our group.

I definitely did not have a great image to start with, but here is what I came up with.

Original:
50th Anniversary Pic0001
My fix:
50th Anniversary fixed
background stretched
w/b
curves & levels
glare removed from glasses
some glare removed from heads
sharpened

From what you had to work with, I think you've done a good job.

It looks like you've blown the highlights though and I'd be tempted to lighten the shadows they're casting on the backdrop.

I think I'd get rid of the moon too. But what do I know.

Great job on the 'after'.

yeah agreed, there's something about that moon that just looks way too cheesy for me. You've done such a nice job making it look better, I'd ditch the moon also.

Great job with the background and the glares.
Skin tone color should be somewhere between the original and the final, shouldn't it?
