Default Sun and Signs

Before:

After:

After finishing the lessons in Scott Kelby's 7-Point System for Adobe Photoshop CS3, I tried out what I'd learned on this one.

Original image was shot as JPEG and I adjusted the foreground using Camera RAW and then made another image in Camera RAW and adjusted the sky.

I merged the two images in Photoshop and then darkened the sky, lightened the foreground, desaturated the blues and yellows a tad, etc.

It's not remotely realistic. The sky is pretty dark for an image that's looking right at the sun.

Everything looks very cool, the ground colors, the sun and the sign but the sky looks too dark and saturated at the same time.

I love what you did with it, but I have to agree with Richardspics, May be if you desaturate the cyans and lower the luminosity a bit. Besides that, I want to see more!

The colors don't have to be realistic for the photo to be great! I bet if you showed this to 100 non-photographers, 70 would think that it was pretty close to the original. What matters is that the photo looks brilliant and it calls our attention. That is what makes outstanding work. I love this picture - and I, too, LOVE where you placed the sun

looks great!
doesn't seem too fake (like over-done HDR), like how the colors pop and it flows nicely.
