Default Gulf Shores HDR. Before/After

Before:

I am going to call this shot bland. The horizon is also tilted. I exported 7 JPGs of the single raw file in increments of 1EV (-3 to +3). This is what I came up with after Photomatix and a little more Lightroom (I think?)

Comments always greatly appreciated and please check out my new photoblog located Here! Thanks you!

I like both of them to be honest, but clarity of the waves is definitely a big improvement in the pseudo-HDR well done

I'll was playing with this in Photoshop for some reason and I ended up making this. I thought it was pretty cool, but YMMV. I really wasn't going for anything, just playing with levels and stuff. If you want me to delete it, let me know and it's gone.

I like the shot, minus the buildings...they kill it for me. Maybe they don't bother anybody else, but I'd clone them out.

I like it with the buildings. However, I'd like to see it without too...it would give it an entirely different look.

I love the buildings. It gives the beach a little more character and definition. Without the buildings, it would be just any other shoreline

I like it! The editted version gives it a warm feel, where as the original seems cold to me if that makes sense.

Thanks, I know what you mean, since that was my goal of the editing!

I really like the second version, but it might even look better with the buildings a bit more silhouette-ish... have you tried that? I find them a bit distracting the way they are now.
