The Original:
![]() (In Photoshop CS3) 1. Levels to make brighter, just a little bit 2. Duplicate layer 3. On "background copy" Virtual Photographer plugin 3a. Select "Hollywood" filter. Apply 4. Still on "background copy", change opacity to around 50%, depending on desired effect. 5. Merge all visible layers 6. Smart Sharpen 80%, or whatever your prefered sharpening method 9. Admire! Edited:

It might be just me, but i like the first one better. It appears less washed out than the second one.

That is what I was going for. I already had a bunch that looked like the original version and I wanted to imitate the style from The Assassination of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford.

I like how the desaturated colors in the edited version give it a more vintage feel. It's a neat style. Incidentally I also like the original for its vibrant colors. So I guess I like them both!
