Default Mr Monkey - My most patient subject.

This is the very first composition I made with my Rebel XTi.
I know itīs a little bit dark, but I wanted to show the fluorecensce of Mr. Monkey (its a pillow...)

I used the overlay tip that wast posted on this forum. (to get depth of field if you didnīt get it at first) And I loved it. But it did get darker... But I kinda like the overlay effect.

What would you do to that picture? I donīt think EVERYONE would leave it like that. At least I hope not.

Here are the numbers: (Not sure how to express them)

AV 2"
F5.0
ISO 100
No flash
7:00 pm.

After that... photoshop post-production. Adjust, AutoLevels.. and I got the saturation. The overlay tip.

Iīm just getting started, I need to know other posibilities.. and learn from you who have more experience than I do.

Thanks. And see yoo very soon!!

Dotita.

PS: the darker picture is the original unedited picture.

I've moved this over to "Before and After", which is the perfect setting for showing the two shots above (in the critique section you are required to only post ONE picture at a time). You definitely made a huge improvement with your post-processing.

Why don't you turn up your ISO a little bit?

Since it is a static set-up, it would probably be better to use a slower shutter speed to let more light in. It doesn't have the drawback of potentially creating a bit of noise on the image although you have to ensure the camera is securely anchored.

In fact, if you are new to the camera, why not experiment with the different options? With a similar set up, start at the same settings and see how things change as you adjust apeture, shutter speed and ISO in turn.

After all, your subject is very patient!

Dotita, I believe this "Point & Shoot" title is your ranking in the forums, just a funny way to call you "newbie" around here. It's usually determined by the number of posts you have here, so the more you contribute, the better the title gets

Now, if you want to show off the equipment you have, your flickr page etc you can go to your profile options (click on User CP on the top left) and edit your signature there, it will be appended on every message you post.

Cheers!

See "member titles" and "creating a signature" in the FAQ... you're not the first to ask
