Question Where do I go from here

I took this photo yesterday, this was my first real try at post processing. Any suggestions/recommendations on what to do with the original or more to do with the edited version.

It’s a great photo, but I like the first one best with the exception of his shirt, a tad too much blue. There is too much orange/yellow/red in the second one for me (or my monitor)

Yeah, I like the original...

That said, I usually just play around in Lightroom 'til I end up with something I like... I don't set out to do anything specific in post-production. =P

In photoshop Levels, take the right eyedropper (white) and click on a white highlight on his tee shirt. Next, take the left eyedropper (black) and click on any black part of the background, like the lower right corner of the image. I think you'll see things improve dramatically.

Does this one look any better? Or is it still too red/orange?

...looks better. Did you do that in levels like I suggested?

It's a simple tip you'll never forget, and you will use it over and over again in the future. Happy to have been of help to you.
