Default ww2 before and afters

these wernt taken by me... ill state that now.. as these were take during an airsoft game i was participating in at the time, but i did do the editing for them.....

1. before

after

2 before

after

all done buy desaturating the photo and tweaking contrast and brightness, then creating a second layer with a brown creased/torn paper texture and setting layer to overlay.... (no 2 was also some cloning to get rid of the three people not in ww2 clothing)

the ones where they are torn edges all the way around was same as above but old photo template and overlaying the picture instead, then set layer mask and hide the sections outside, over the tears...

your thoughts please

I love the idea and your explaining how you did it. Wonderful job.

However, the first and third pic (in the second post) are just to sharp to me so I think I am struggling with a cira 1930's photo looking so sharp. Now the 4th one IMO could have fooled me.

I wonder how that 3rd one would look with grain added to it?

Otherwise, I like em!

Great stuff! I love the vintage war look. I will agree about the sharpness. adding a little noise and texture will def. add to the pictures! Kudos, they look great!

be careful of the repeating pattern in picture 2 where you cloned out the extra people. Take some samples from different areas

Think they look great! Its a pitty that there were some modern features like safety glasses in some of them. But they look awesome

Second one was great where you cloned the group of people out. I took some pictures at a civil war reinactment that I am now really anxious to try your technique on. Thanks for sharing!
