You did a wonderful job on this. I wasnt sure I liked the vingete but after seeing the orginal I decedided i did like it. Your title ceratinly is very fitting for this. well done!

Thankyou everyone for the compliments.

@agata: Yes the purpose of desat background was to make the mood of major part of picture sad to support wilted flower.

@windrider: Vignette was purposeful too. I think that helps in keeping the eye within the picture and it doesn't run out of frame.

Very nice. You're right on regarding the sadness of the image being more of a focus in your composition. The healthy flower almost looks saddened by the loss of his neighbor.

Very nice - I like the whole feel, but especially the selective desaturization - just enough to make the yellow pop, but not enough to go completely black and white. Well done!
