Default Which one is better?

Hi,

Just started trying some post processing on my images and wanted to get honest inputs on whether I am improving them or messing them up. Below are a few I tried.

Before:
SLR_0613_B

After adjusting white balance, levels, removing the branch on the left top and some sharpening:
SLR_0613

Before:
SLR_0630_B

After adjusting white balance, levels, cropping and sharpening:
SLR_0630

Thanks for looking...

I agree with that - I'm definitely drawn to the first and last photos.

Second one on both, the partial branch in the first one brings nothing to the image, keeps drawing my eye away from the main subject, while the second chimp image just simply looks better all around..better color, better contrast etc.

I like the colors of the first parrot better, but prefer the cloned out branch of the second. Second monkey image for sure.

Default Thanks!

Thanks for the inputs everyone. Will try and see if I can restore the colors of the parrot in the after image.

The "afters" are better for both of them! Except I'd use the history brush on the bird just because the original color is better.

Is the history brush available in Gimp? I don't have Photoshop, unfortunately.
