Cool Photo of my Son

Tried today to take some portraits of my son using the sun as natural light from the window.
After cropping the photo in Picassa 3 and adjusting some lighting, I then adjusted the color balance and warmed it up.

Then I took the photo into Photoshop and adjusted the contrast to darken the backdrop and did a little cloning tool to fix some scratches he had put on himself.

Im still wondering how to get rid of some of the glow of his skin as I have more pictures where his drool is way too bright and noticeable but I do want to try to take some different photos soon using a faster shutter speed as it seems he moves way more than I had anticipated.

Your thoughts? I can take it I need it!

It looks like the photo is a bit overexposed. His skin is blown out and you've lost some detail on the left side (sunny side). The eyes are also soft which could come from a slow shutter speed or maybe you missed the focus point, it's hard to say. I like the black background and the crop. I'd also play with taking photos at his eye level or from much higher up looking down, it might make the shot more dramatic.

Can you list your settings for the shot? It might help people to give better feedback.

Keep at it, you've got a beautiful model there!!!

I'd crop in a little tighter so he isn't left with half a foot hanging out there.
