Default Editing a nature photo

before


after


1-i made a new layer
2-flip the the new horizontal
3-change the layer options (i don't remember)
4-b&w
5-a little sepia color

and that what i got
so what do you think?

Personally, I like the original better. Its good pp but you sucked the "life" right out of it

The background is too busy for me - it competes with the stem for my attention, and almost camouflages it.

Otherwise, I love it. The shape of the stem, its position in the frame, and the post processing is beautiful... I can imagine it being an awesome shot if the background was more uniformly bright or dark, or less textured.

It needs some seperation between the fore and background elements. Try selecting an area around the stem, feather it by 150px or so, then use a Levels adjustment layer to brighten slightly. Then select the stem (lasso/pen tool) and fill that area with black (on the Levels mask) to bring the stem back to normal.

I also think that the background is too busy too much going on and you have hard time too see the main object
