Default Peace Bridge at night.

Before:

2010_09090014

After:

HDR5

The after was done with a combo of photoshop 5 to create the varying exposers and Photomatix for the rest.

Interesting colour effect, but I think I like the first one better (just my opinion tho)
Do the lights on the bridge change colour at all or are they always purple-ish?

IMO I like the second one better...has this kind of cool cold, techy feel to it...

The lighting on the bridge has red blue green white, and purple. Due to leaving the shutter open, the colors that will be dominent will be the blues and purples as they are the strongest colors. (they are often used the most) They seem to use a lot more lighting on the bridge between July 1 and 4th though as we have a festival on both sides, here in fort erie and in buffalo to celebrate the 2 countries birthdays.

I am hoping to get some time in the next couple weeks when I get the new Canon, and going to head over to Niagara falls and play tourist (I live about 15 minutes from the falls) and get some shots of it at night with all the lights they use.

I have another variant on the shot above as well.

Amazing shot... which bridge is this? I really liked the original, but then it can be way too bright for your need. The second update is good too..

I really like the first one, the second one is a little too desaturated for me.

This is the Fort Erie Ontario - Buffalo NY. Peace Bridge. I will be going back tonight (as it is only about a 3 minute drive from my house) loaded with a new camera. I finally got my first DSLR today. A Canon XSi. New tripod, new ammunition. I have a feeling I will be spending a lot of time getting various length exposures of this bridge.

I took a bunch of Niagara falls today, but I didn't really get anything to spectacular. I will head back some time at night when I have something better than the kit lens. (The falls gets lit up at night similar to that bridge.)

I'll post some of my results tonight or tomorrow

Maybe you all can give me tips as I am just getting to know my new camera!

Wow, what can I say. Both look equally awesome. Great shot and great editing.
