Default Flatiron 'Posterified'

So I was messing around with the Gradient Map adjustment layer in Photoshop earlier on, and decided to see what I could do with this snap of the Flatiron Building in NYC:

A few minutes, some grunge brushes and various other tweaks later, voila:

Not sure what folks will think of this. Needless to say if you want I can post more details on how it's done.

I thind it's pretty cool what you've done. I don't particularly like the FLATIRON stamp on it, as it detracts from the picture. Otherwise, though, very nice.

Very artistic, great use of graphic design. I could definitely see this as a postcard or poster. I agree with Barbara that the text on the image is a bit distracting, perhaps a bit smaller an in the bottom corner so that it doesn't pull the eye to it. Great job though, I'm sure a tutorial on this sort of processing would definitely help others - don't be shy!

Great edit, its definitely a lot more exciting than the first. I really like the paint splatter effect and the colors. I hate to sound like a broken record, but I'd also like to see it without the text lol. But I can understand why you have it on there if your trying to make it look like a poster, its just a thought if you were to see how it looks as a normal picture.

it is really awesome, but i also agree but i see another option tooo...

i would either get rid of the text, or add more text/enhance the importance of the text. i feel as though if you added more to it, it would almost turn into a band poster, which could be really cool you might even try another effect to compliment the splatter.....

I'm not shy, I'm lazy. It takes ages to write a good tutorial

I will change the text and get back to y'all.

Ok, two variations, one with no text, one with smaller, more subtle text:

Thumbs up

Wow, that's a great design man! Great job turning a mundane picture into something special.
I actually like the original version of the text more. It makes the graphic more exciting, screaming and "in your face".
The traffic-light on the left looks a little weird to me with the originally "red light" having the same color as the sky. Making it more orange or yellow will be better I think.
Other than that it's perfect!

I really like it without the text. But if you did want to have text I would vote for the first one.
