True statement...a bit difficult to get a good image of dogs because they move so much (the fact that my hands are shaky doesn't help). Thanks

I will critique this the best I can and hopefully give you some starter points.
1. Faster shutter speeds can help with your shaking hands. If you are using a point and shoot camera then this is out. In the future maybe propping the camera on something will help. 2. The blur in the image could be interesting if used properly. If the original image had the levels corrected ( watch that white shirt to know how far to go - if the wrinkles disappear you went to far) and then converted to grey scale it might produce a rather interesting image. Black and whites are a largely under rated medium. 3. If you can help it never crop. The reason is that the resolution immediately drops and the print size drops with it. Instead try to remember to use a little shoe leather and move a bit. There are those who would argue that cropping is ok as it is better to have a great image at a smaller size than a mediocre one that you can print large. I hope this was of some help Keep shooting
