Sometimes we just don't have the props, or in this case some random wildlife hanging around the studio. Upon seeing this hat that Valarie brought to the shoot, I immediately envisioned her standing in an area with some crows. Don't ask me why, cause I don't know myself.

Yea, I pondered that as well. However, that is what the stock photo said. No matter, taste the same to me :-)

I love it, especially how the floating feather in the foreground at the bottom of the picture creates an almost vignette-like effect, putting more emphasis on the subject. The background looks really good too, reminds me of the silk paper that some of the art done in ancient Japan was painted on, did you make/photograph it yourself or use some sort of stock photo for that?
