Default Castle Lookout Editing

Hiya, this is my original shot below, of somekind of look out maybe it belonged to a castle who knows ? I took it up beacon hill in the UK where i also got some of my beacon pictures which turned out good.

Firstly I laso tooled around the building so i could get it on a sepearte layer, then played about with the levels, the brightness and contrast and shadows, this brings the building out from look dark and dull

Then i went back to the original image and played with the brightness and contrast of the skies and cropped it, I dont know wether it looks abit over edited, but i still need to sharpen it and make one or two finishing touches, be great for any critque , thanks !

I like the after photo much more than the original. It brings out a lot of the detail. It's rather small, so I can't tell if there is grain from the editing you've done. But I think at the size provided, it looks great.

Nice work on the processing, the tower looks a lot nicer after being brightened up etc. I really like the texture of the sky directly above the tower, but the clouds to the left are blown out, unfortunately there's not much you can do to fix that in post. Nice shot none the less, perhaps try a crop without the hill in the background for a cleaner compsition?

Default Nice shot!

That is a great pic! Wow. And just so you know, that is not a lookout. It's an archer's window. He can shoot out (up, down, angle left, angle right). The angle of the window gives it away. Grin. I'm an archer.......... love seeing something like this! Thanks for sharing!

I didnt really know what to call it tbh, id just thought i'd go with the most interesting thing i could come up with for the title but thanks for letting me know, you seem to know your stuff.
I thought about cropping it but i thought it may look as proportional, i dont know if thats the word for what im thinking though. i might try it tomorrow when im next on photoshop thanks for the idea.
