Default portrait processing

im more in to nature and landscapes.. and never been much on processing photos other than cropping and playing with the brightness and contrast a little but thought i would give it all a try..

I use paint shop pro for my photos here's what i did to this photo
i used dodge and burn on the eyes, whitened the teeth, used contrastmaster to fix the color of the photo, and then i used glamour glow effect from nikon color efex pro.

I like how the hair came out, but her face and dress are washed out in my opinion. I'm not a big fan of plastic-looking skin. I think her skin tone in the before is fine.

I like the first (before) picture better. If anything, I would of thought your before picture was an after picture. The girl's eyes in the second picture looks darker. So I don't think you were dodging but instead burning. I do like the hair better in the second picture.

I quite disagree. I like the edited photo. The first one is a snapshot, the second is a work of art

no i used dodging on the eyes to lighten them up and make the whites in her eyes whiter. then i used burn on the center of her eyes to darken them back up.

heres another version i did, on this one i only brightened it, and then upped the contrast on it then added a glow effect to soften it a little.

I like the first edit best! Makes it more than just a photo of a cute girl.
I think you could have left a bit more detail/contrast in her face, though. JMO

I guess its all just a matter of opinion!

I prefer the second edit also due to the teeth. In the first one the teeth look unnaturally white. I will say it is hard not to over whiten. I've done it many times.
