Hi everyone
been watching some Photoshop tutorials on youtube so been trying to apply what i've
been learning. Was going for a glamour vibe. I did a fair bit to the picture and it took a
while but would love to hear some feedback. anyway here is what i did:

Healing brush to remove blemishes and stray hairs.
History brush using a gaussian blur as a source to remove freckles.
Selected eyes and brightened.
Dodge and burn on eyes/eyelids.
Burned around and on the darkest parts of shadows.
Adjustment layer - brightness, using a mask to highlight certain areas of face.
a gaussian blur was applied to a duplicated layer, then used a mask to bring it out using
a low opacity soft brush

To change hair colour I created a new layer - used a white soft brush to go over hair. changed the layer to soft light. Then applied a hue and saturation adjustment to the layer making sure that colorize was clicked. Then adjusted opacity.
same was done to lips.

Thats about it.

Nice work. Nice job is keeping some texture in the skin and not making it look plasticy or fake. The eye work turned out well, the irises have life and look believeable.

I feel like you could bring the eyes out a bit more. Just slightly. Also maybe paint the face a bit as I feel like the overall toning on the face is not even.

Good job - nice balance.
I think the eyes are sitting in a little bit of shadow, making it hard to lift them to the desired level.
If you retry the shot, set it up with a bit better lighting

Thanks for taking the time to leave some feedback
and tips. I think the comments are spot on. I think the
skin could do with a bit more toning to smooth it out.

One thing i've noticed is the picture looks a fair bit
darker on my other computer's screen. The computer
i did the editing is a lot brighter so the eyes come out
a bit more. Ill have to keep that in mind a lot more or
get the monitor calibrated to some sort of standard.

The original photo itself was a quick snap, she doesn't
really like getting her photo taken lol so because the
photo is nice and sharp i thought id try to see what i
can do to it and then give her a copy. but your right
there is no substitute for better lighting.

Thanks again
Rob
