Nice job! But I would rather lessen the brightness in the girl's face.I like what you did to the hair and the bark.

first off, good choice in the crop. I think that makes the biggest difference in the image as the frame was just hitting her in some strange places. I have two specific criticisms of the image.
First, the really bright stump to the left of her face is very distracting. The stump is the brightest thing in the image and is the first thing my eye sees. As a photographer, you are responsible for everything your camera sees. Try finding another location or angle where blown out highlights aren't competing for attention...this may be a difficult task with branches acting like a random gobo. Second, the greatest amount of detail isn't in her face, but rather the branches and this distracts me from focusing on her. Try a wider aperture with a shallower depth of field, and keep the branch textures out of her plane of focus. Your model is very pretty and has a fantastic, dreamy expression that your editing works into very well, but in this kind of a photo, find a way to hide all the stuff that doesn't bring focus on her. Keep it up!!! |
