Default Bright Blue sky

When I saw the blue sky outside, I rushed to get my camera. Unfortunately when I viewed the pictures on the computer, it wasn't as stunning as it looked in real.
Here's the first shot

I was feeling a little lazy to do some real editing so I went to Picasa and did the following:
Clicked I'm feeling lucky, added a graduated tint, increased the saturation a bit, then I straightened the picture and here's the result
IMG_0370-2

Please let me know if the saturation is too exaggerated or is believable enough. Any other comments are appreciated.

Too much for me. The sky is not radioactive and the clouds have a bad color cast to them. Its better to underexpose the sky by about 1 stop for really dramatic colors.

Try lowering the exposure a bit, then playing with the levels instead of the saturation.

Here's a quick and dirty edit using levels, unsharp mask (with a large radius -- its like clarity), and selective colors.
