Default first attempt to use cuves

This is my second photoshop attempt and used only curves.

Still learning, but would appreciate any comments!

Looks like you are getting the hang of it. Your processed image makes much better use of the contrast range and looks very pleasing. Well Done!!

Yup. You got it! I think all digital cameras are a fit flat, so when I import into lightroom I automatically apply a *slight* curve to everything. The base curve I use is much less dramatic than the one you used here, but again this is just an import fix. Once I have them in lightroom or photoshop I then curve it based on the image. Excellent job.
